Sophie Reads: The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

Hi Everyone!  I hope you are all doing well! Today I wanted to do another Sophie Reads. I have been really enjoying reading books lately and right now I am on a murder mystery kick. The book I will be reviewing for you all is  The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware . I have a lot of thoughts and opinions on this book and I cannot wait to share them with you all.  Overview:  Lo Blacklock is a journalist for a travel magazine. She has this once in a lifetime opportunity to go sail on the Aurora, a luxurious cruise with only a handful of cabins. This is the break that Lo has been looking for in her career. To interact with different travel journalists and hopefully interview the owner of the Aurora. But there is just one issue. Lo Blacklock sees something that she is not supposed to see. She believes that she just saw a woman being thrown overboard. The issue is that every passenger and employee on the ship has been accounted for. My Opinion:  I have...

Winter Skin Care 2018

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year and a good holiday season! I have decided that I wanted to share with you all my winter skincare. It has been insanely cold where I live and my skin has definitely been taking a toll. I feel like these skin care products can work for anyone honestly. I am 21 years old but I think that some of these products I recommend can work for more mature skin as well as girls and guys who are younger than me. So let's get started! My first step before I go to bed or when I start the day is to wash my face. I have two different face washes I want to talk about that I have been loving. The first one is the  Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser This cleanser I started using because I got it as a sample and I wish I started using it sooner. This cleanser is so gentle and yet I feel like when I wash my face with it, it gets all the dirt and makeup and oils that have been on my face out. Whenever I use this cleanser, my skin always feel...

Sophie Reads: Murder On the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Hi everyone! Wow it has been a while. I honestly would like to apologize for not having a blog post in quite sometime but trust me, I will explain it one day. I have missed blogging so much and what is the best way to get back into blogging than by doing a book review. Reading has and will always be an extreme passion and love of mine. And I would love to recommend different books to you all. To get back to reviewing for you all, I chose to read  Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie . I have always been a huge fan of Agatha Christie after I read  And Then There Were None  in high school. The funny story is, I never heard of this book until I saw the  trailer . When I said to myself, I have to see it, it reminds me so much of an Agatha Christie book. And I found out she wrote it. Lets get on to the review. Summary: In the middle of the night, a passenger on the Orient Express is killed. Samuel Edward Rachett is murdered and no one knows who kill...

Dear 2016

Dear 2016, You really sucked. This year was so difficult and honestly I don't think I am the only person who thought his year sucked as well. I will give you just a few of the reasons why this year sucked. ` 1) Trump became president 2) I was sick a majority of the year 3) Terrorists attacks 4) family members passed away 5) Lost friends and these are just a few of the reasons why 2016 sucked. I am writing this letter because I just wanted to say goodbye 2016 and hello 2017. Here are some of the few things I am hoping for in 2017: 1) That I am healthy 2) I lose my sick weight 3) I become happier 4) I make Dean's list 5) I get another dog, this is not likely but hey I am hoping! 6) Become an activists for people with chronic pain These are just a few of things I want in the year of 2017. Of course I would like an end to the hatred and sadness in the world. I would love to stop world hunger. I would love to stop animal abuse and just abuse in general. But unfor...

Invisible Illness Series: Support

Hello everyone! Today's blog post is going to be a little emotional but I feel like it will probably help so many of you all. One thing I have noticed with having Endometriosis is how many people just do not get it. They do not understand why I am constantly in pain. They think that the pain that I am experiencing on a daily basis is something that everyone experiences. It is not. People who suffer from chronic pain can go hours at a time in excruciating pain that honestly is indescribable. And even then if people physically see you in pain, they do not care. They just think you are either faking it or being over dramatic. Well to those people I have this to say, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why would anyone fake being in agony for hours at a time. Why would anyone feel the need to be stuck in bed for a long time just because they just "don't feel like getting up". I have a feeling that many of you have experienced people like that in your life. Well let m...

Invisible Illness Series: What People Say To Us

Hi everyone! I have been thinking about doing a series on chronic pain for quite some time now. I will be playing around with titles throughout this series until I finding one that truly speaks to me. But the reason why I am creating this series is for people who suffer from chronic pain like me and then also people who do not suffer from chronic pain. Throughout my years of suffering with chronic pain, I have had people say some horrible things to me when they honestly have no idea what they are talking about. I felt that this series can be spread around the community of people with chronic illness and we can discuss our stories. We can be our own support system. Do not get me wrong, my family and friends have been great support but I also have lost a lot of "friends" due to this disease. I have lost respect from faculty members at my school because of this disease. This disease does not define who I am but this disease does put a label for others to judge me on. So ...

Sophie Reads: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1&2 by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well! I have just been slacking on the blogging game and I apologize for that. But I will be back because I have a couple of ideas for different blog posts. But now I have another Sophie Reads and boy am I excited for this one. Something you all should know about me is that I am obsessed with Harry Potter. When I was younger, I had trouble reading. For me, I had to get tutored in reading and I am forever thankful to my teacher who tutored me. One of the ways my mom got me to read and push myself was that she to paid me to read. My first book that she paid me to read was Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J.K. Rowling. That book changed my life and I am forever grateful for my mom for paying me $5 to read it. And that is where my love for Harry Potter came from! But now onto the book review! Today, I will be reviewing for you the new  Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2 Summary: This Harry Potter script takes pl...

Sometimes, there are times where I use a shaving cream or a razor and the next day I feel the hair is thicker and just not very appealing. So I am excited to share my shaving secrets with you all today!  The most important part of shaving is your razor. A razor is extremely important because honestly, if you have a bad razor, than you will have a bad shave and that is not so cute. I have tried many razors but the razor that I find is the best is the...

Sophie Reads: Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Hello everyone!  I hope you all are enjoying this series. I know I have not been posting a lot of beauty posts but honestly, there is nothing to post that is truly wowing me. But I have found some new body products that I want to talk to you all about. So that will be my next post!  Today, I want to talk to you about another YA novel,  Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard . This is a dystopian novel that has been talked about for quite sometime. Dystopian novels have always been one of my all time favorite types of novels, especially since I read the Hunger Games. I have read all the "best" dystopian novels in the last couple of years but still The Hunger Games is still my favorite.  Summary:  Mare Barrow lives in a world that is based on what type of blood you have, silver or red. Red blood, means you are common. Silver means you are an elite and have powers that can allow you to destroy a red blood.  Mare Barrow's blood is red.  When sh...

Sophie Reads: The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing well. I have been doing a lot of reading in honor of Sophie's Reads and let me just say, I have a lot of books to tell you all about. The novel that I want to talk to you about today is  The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith . A fun fact about this novel was that it is actually written by J.K. Rowling and Robert Galbraith is her pseudonym.  Every time I went to Barnes and Nobles ( a book store in the United Sates), I passed this novel constantly. It was on the best sellers list, it was on the novel to take to the beach table, it was everywhere. So I finally picked it up and let me just say, I am so glad I did.  Overview:  A private detective named Cormoran Strike is mess. His business is not doing so well, his private life is not doing so well and things are not looking so bright for Detective Strike. Until a case comes in to investigate a so called suicide of a supermodel.  Detective Strike...

Sophie Reads: Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

Hey Everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Today, I have another exciting book review for you all! This Sophie Reads is  Dark Places  by Gillian Flynn. She is the author of Gone Girl which I have also read and I had mixed feelings about. But I have heard about this book for quite sometime and I was curious to see what it was about. Let me just say that this book is not a joyous book. It is extremely dark and it makes you think and question every little step that the main character, Libby Day makes.                                                                        Summary: Libby Day was eight years old when her mother, and two sisters were brutally murdered. Her older brother, Ben Day was convicted of the brutal murders. Twenty-five years later, a club called the Kill Club has asked Lib...

Sophia Reads: To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

Hello Everyone,  A majority of the people that have read my blog are mainly my friends and family, but the few that are random viewers, hello and sorry I have been away for so long. A lot has happened in the past couple of months but instead of boring you with the details, I have decided to just start blogging again. Mainly, I want to create a series about reviewing books. Books from YA, to fiction, maybe even some non fiction depending on my mood. But the reason being is that summer is going by and fast and there are so many books out there that I have to share my opinion on.  The book I am going to be reviewing is the YA novel,  To All the Boys I've Loved Before  by Jenny Han. If you are looking for a perfect beach read book or a book to read on the plane, this is your book.  Summary: The story is about a teenage girl named Lara Jean and she lives with her father and two sisters, Margot and Kitty.  The story is about how every boy that...

My Updated Skin Care Routine

Hey Everyone! You all might have been wondering what actually happened to my blog but honestly I just needed to focus on school. But I have missed my blog so much and I am ready to start it back up again. I hope you all had a wonderful end of the year as well as a happy new year! I can not believe that it is 2016 and I am so excited for this new year! 2015 had some ups as well as some downs but honestly I grew as a person and I cannot wait to grow some more in 2016. That is all for the intro and now I would like to tell you about my skin and my new skin care routine. During winter break, I began working almost every day since I got home from school except working on Christmas. Over the summer I got a job at Pandora and I absolutely love it. But working over time is very draining to say the least. About a week before Christmas I started to notice some spots on my chin. Now I have dry to combination skin. I rarely get pimples or break outs. And if I ever have pimples, I t...

Summer Foundation Routine 2015

Hi Everyone! I have been wanting to do this blog post for a couple of months now but I really wanted to test out the product and make sure that I really stand by my opinions. Everyone in the beauty community has been talking about the  L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation . I have been using my ride or die foundation, the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for years. So I was a little hesitant to try out a new foundation. Once I have found something I love, I don't like to stray away from it. I went to a couple of different places to figure out the best price for the foundation. This foundation can vary from $11 to $13, depending on where you go. I got mine at CVS because I had a coupon. I got my color in 107 Fresh Biege. I want to tell you two very important things about my skin. I have a yellow undertone to my skin and I have dry skin. Especially in my T zone area. So if you have a pink undertone, I do not recommend this foundation. Most of the ...

It's a Bunny... No! It's a Moose....No! It's a Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Hi Everyone! Today I will be doing a movie review on Jurassic World! I have never seen Jurassic Park so right before my mom and I went to the movies, we saw Jurassic Park.  This movie was made in 1993.  And it was pretty awesome. Like it wasn't really fake looking. The dinosaurs were extremely realistic looking. Okay, I have never seen one but I have seen drawings and their fossils. Anyways, I was scared basically the whole entire movie. I screamed a lot but I really enjoyed it. The story line was extremely fascinating and made you think like a lot about the world and people who only care about money.  Now onto Jurassic World! Honestly you did not have to see Jurassic Park to see Jurassic World...but I do recommend it because it puts you in the whole mindset of the park and why they created this park.  Summary: Jurassic World was created 20 years after Jurassic Park. The attractions were ten times better, the dinosaurs were bigger, better, and sc...

The summer time is when I read as many books as possible because I have the most time. This specific book,  We Were Liars by E. Lockhart  has been on my list to read for quite some time. A couple of beauty gurus that I watched have talked about this book and I became instantly interested.  Summary: This book is based on a family, the Sinclair family, who are extremely wealthy. There are three sisters, Carrie, Bess, and Penny and their children, Johnny, Will, Mirren, Liberty, Taft, Bonnie, and Cadence. As well as the head of the family, Harris Sinclair and Tipper Taft. The Sinclair's own this island off the coast of Massachusetts, Beechwood. Every summer, the family goes to this island.
