Hi everyone!
Wow it has been a while. I honestly would like to apologize for not having a blog post in quite sometime but trust me, I will explain it one day. I have missed blogging so much and what is the best way to get back into blogging than by doing a book review. Reading has and will always be an extreme passion and love of mine. And I would love to recommend different books to you all. To get back to reviewing for you all, I chose to read Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. I have always been a huge fan of Agatha Christie after I read And Then There Were None in high school. The funny story is, I never heard of this book until I saw the trailer. When I said to myself, I have to see it, it reminds me so much of an Agatha Christie book. And I found out she wrote it. Lets get on to the review.
Summary:
In the middle of the night, a passenger on the Orient Express is killed. Samuel Edward Rachett is murdered and no one knows who killed him. The door was locked from the inside. It is up to the greatest detective in the world, Hercule Poirit to investigate the crime. The issue is, the train is stuck in a snowstorm. No way to escape or to communicate with the outside world. Poirit's goal is to find the killer, before the killer murders again.
Review:
When I first started reading this book, I am not going to lie, it was boring. I felt that it started at a very slow pace and I just wanted Poirit to get on the train. But after I finished the book, I realized that the reason Agatha Christie starts her novels off slow is to build suspense. And let me tell you, it works. I read this book in one day. It was an extremely fast novel to read. You want to find out who the murder is. And honestly, I could not figure out who the murderer was until the last page. And trust me, you will not suspect the killer. I think the reason why I enjoy Agatha Christie books so much is because the crimes are so fascinating and the murderers are someone you would never suspect. I really enjoyed this novel. I would recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries, to read Agatha Christie. She is the queen of them.
That is my review for you all. I am a little nervous to see the movie, not going to lie. But it looks good. I tried when reading it to not think of the characters of the movie because I wanted to create my own ideas of what they were to look like.
I am really excited to get back into blogging. I have missed it and this also gives me an excuse to read more. Please recommend me books in the comments or just tell me how your day was.
I hope you all have a wonderful day or night wherever you are!
Carpe Diem,
Sophia
