Hi Everyone!
I have been wanting to do this blog post for a couple of months now but I really wanted to test out the product and make sure that I really stand by my opinions. Everyone in the beauty community has been talking about the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation.
I have been using my ride or die foundation, the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for years. So I was a little hesitant to try out a new foundation. Once I have found something I love, I don't like to stray away from it.
I went to a couple of different places to figure out the best price for the foundation. This foundation can vary from $11 to $13, depending on where you go. I got mine at CVS because I had a coupon.
I got my color in 107 Fresh Biege. I want to tell you two very important things about my skin. I have a yellow undertone to my skin and I have dry skin. Especially in my T zone area.
So if you have a pink undertone, I do not recommend this foundation. Most of the colors I saw, all had yellow undertone.
I was a little skeptical to try this foundation also because it is matte. I am more into the J-Lo glow and dewy skin but since I heard so much hype about it, I decided to give it a go.
The first couple of times I used it, it was pretty liquidy to apply and then dried to a matte finish. So what I recommend is shaking the foundation up a little bit because I feel like it just works better.
I put dots all over my face and blend with my beauty blender or my real techniques miracle complexion sponge. ( Will be doing a battle of the sponges)
I liked the finish of it. A lot. I did not feel the foundation on my skin and I did not feel like my skin was getting weighed down by the foundation. But since I like the more dewy skin, I had to apply a lot more bronzer and highlight to get what I want.
Then I had an ephiphany.
Years ago I got this hydrating primer from Stila.
This primer unfortunately is not around any more but here are a few hydrating primers I suggest:
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Hydrating Primer
Make Up Forever Step 1 Skin Equalizer
Adding this hydrating primer, that has a pinky iridescent color, underneath my foundation brought the dewy glow that I wanted after I applied the foundation.
I put my moisturizer on, then I wait five minutes. After five minutes, I apply the primer and then do my eyes. By then, the primer has sunken into my skin and then I apply my foundation. I was nervous that the primer would make the foundation slip and slide off, but it didn't. The foundation applied so smoothly and looked amazing after the first time I used the primer.
These two items paired together are amazing.
I do not powder my T zone or any other part of my face except my under eyes.
I never use a setting spray unless I will be going out for a really long time. This foundation lasts all day without the need to be powdered or blotted. Now I have dry skin so I am unsure how it would be for people who have oily skin. Honestly, I feel like anyone can wear this foundation.
A lot of beauty gurus that I watch do not apply a hydrating primer and they are fine. I just felt that I needed that extra step. Also, I forgot to tell you that this foundation does not cling onto some of my dry patches like most foundations do, especially around my nose and forehead area.
Here is what the foundation and primer looks like.
This picture is taken in natural sunlight. The foundation looks extremely natural and not patchy or cakey at all.
That is my summer foundation for you all. I hope you all enjoyed it. Try out the product and let me know what you think! Also, one of my favorite gurus at the moment made an amazing video about reviewing the foundations. Lusterlux Review on the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation
Check it out if you want an even more in-depth review and swatches.
I hope you have a wonderful day/night!
Carpe Diem,
Sophia
