Sophie Reads: The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all doing well. I have been doing a lot of reading in honor of Sophie's Reads and let me just say, I have a lot of books to tell you all about. The novel that I want to talk to you about today is The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith. A fun fact about this novel was that it is actually written by J.K. Rowling and Robert Galbraith is her pseudonym.

Every time I went to Barnes and Nobles ( a book store in the United Sates), I passed this novel constantly. It was on the best sellers list, it was on the novel to take to the beach table, it was everywhere. So I finally picked it up and let me just say, I am so glad I did.

Overview:
A private detective named Cormoran Strike is mess. His business is not doing so well, his private life is not doing so well and things are not looking so bright for Detective Strike. Until a case comes in to investigate a so called suicide of a supermodel.
Detective Strike is a war veteran, who lost half his leg in battle. The day this case falls onto his lap, he gets a temp secretary named Robin.
Robin and Strike go on this search of finding out what really happened to the beautiful supermodel, Lula Laundry. Did she jump? Or did something more brutal happened?

Review:
This book is.....AMAZING. Words cannot describe how impressed I am with this novel. Honestly, mystery novels are not my cup of tea. I have read mysteries before but they are not my go to. But after reading this novel, I honestly think that I will be looking into more mystery novels. Honestly, I came into reading this book with an open mind. I had absolutely no idea whether I would like this book or not.
I was thoroughly impressed.
I love how rugged and hairy Cormoran Strike is. I love the relationship that he has with Robin. But at the same time, what I really loved was that I was constantly at the edge of my seat. The closer I got to the ending, the more confused I was about what actually happened to Lula. Now, normally I am pretty good at picking up what happens at the end but let me just tell you, you will not know anything.
J.K. Rowling honestly can do no wrong but I still was impressed. I only have read the Harry Potter novels but I always knew she was an incredible writer. This just proves that she is an extremely talented author who can write completely different types of novels. She is a superstar.

Another reason why I truly loved this book was that I felt that it wasn't your common mystery novel. I personally felt that it was a well written novel that was about a detective trying to find the truth. And what he finds is something that honestly you will question. I personally do not understand some parts of the novel but I can't say anything because then I would ruin it for you all.

But if you have a chance, I really think that this should be on everyones list. Personally, I felt that it was pretty fast paced. I read it in 2 days and it is about 500 pages. But I felt that you could definitely read it in a few sittings but you might not want to because it is so good!

I hope you liked this Sophie Reads. I know I had a lot to say about this book. I am writing this right after I finished it and my parents are sleeping and I have no one to vent to about my love for this book that I thought I would talk to you guys!
I hope you have a wonderful day/ night!

Carpe Diem,
Sophia

Invisible Illness Series: Support

Hello everyone! Today's blog post is going to be a little emotional but I feel like it will probably help so many of you all. One thing I have noticed with having Endometriosis is how many people just do not get it. They do not understand why I am constantly in pain. They think that the pain that I am experiencing on a daily basis is something that everyone experiences. It is not. People who suffer from chronic pain can go hours at a time in excruciating pain that honestly is indescribable. And even then if people physically see you in pain, they do not care. They just think you are either faking it or being over dramatic. Well to those people I have this to say, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why would anyone fake being in agony for hours at a time. Why would anyone feel the need to be stuck in bed for a long time just because they just "don't feel like getting up". I have a feeling that many of you have experienced people like that in your life. Well let m

Review: Victoria Secret Seamless Racerback Bra

Hey everyone! So I never see anyone reviewing sports bras! So today I decided to review one! Now I HATE sport bras. Every sports bra that I have ever tried either suffocates my boobs (TMI...sorry!) or they are way to lose to support my boobs when I am working out. Now I am addicted to Victoria Secret Pink. I absolutely love every thing they have. I own way to much stuff from them so when I saw this new sports bra, I had to try it. It is the  Victoria Secret Pink Seamless Racerback Bra ! First Impression: I got it in the tie dye color in blue. When I first got it in the mail, the first thing I thought was how soft it was. Then I saw that it was a very thin material. I thought it was going to be a little thicker like most sports bras. I was kinda afraid that it will show my nips. (TMI!) I got it in a medium. First Time Wearing It: The first time I wore it was not to work out but to school. I got so many compliments from my friends. They all thought it was different because of

Book Review: Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs

Another book review!? Yes! Today I have another book review for you all and it is going to be a good one! So this novel was one of the galleys that my mom got for me at BEA. (Book Expo America) Just a warning is that this novel does not come out until September 23. But you can always pre-order it if you are interested. The novel is called  Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs .  Now I will give you a little background about why I read this book. When I was in 6th grade, my Biology teacher put on the show Bones for us to watch. And from that day to 10th grade, I wanted to be a forensic anthropologist. Now to this day I love forensics, I think it is super fascinating but I am just not good at biology. Anyways, the show Bones was based off of Kathy Reichs and her life as a forensic anthropologist. Now a forensic anthropologist is someone who studies human bones and  figures out what happened to that person. How they died, if they were murdered, did they have any health problems, stuff
