Wheat Belly Diet

Hi Everyone!
Since this is a blog about beauty, lifestyle, health, and books, I thought I can talk about health today! I decided to tell you about this new lifestyle choice I have made in case any of you are interested in trying it. My mom showed me this book called Wheat Belly by William Davis. The reason she showed me this is because I have stomach problems and she thought that doing this lifestyle change might help.

It has been four days since I took wheat out of my diet. And I bet some are you thinking that I am crazy for taking wheat out of my diet because it is in almost everything but I decided that if this could help my stomach problems, why not try it. You will have to read the book to fully understand the concept of the wheat belly. But basically this doctor, William Davis, would be taking care of people who had high blood pressure, diabetes, and other health issues. He told them to take wheat out of their diet and start exercising and drinking more water and see what happens. In months, these patients lost 10 - 20 pounds and their blood pressure went down and for some patients their diabetes went away. Now I am telling you the summary of this book but I highly suggest you borrow it from the library or buy it because it is very fascinating.

Now on to how I have cut wheat out. I got the cookbook that he made. Wheat Belly 30 Minute Cookbook. It helped so much because it gave you a list of ingredients that you would need to take out of your kitchen or add to your kitchen. Then it gives you recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desert. My dad and I cooked my family the Caribbean Shrimp and Rice. It was delicious. Add some Sirachi. Perfection.

But if you do not want to buy the cookbook, you need to start looking at all the ingredients in everything you get. Unless it's like veggies or rice or beans. I will give you some examples on what I have now added to my kitchen:
Blueberries
Kind Bars (Dark chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite)
Garden Veggie Straws
Pop Corners
Dark Chocolate covering fruit like blueberries and cherries( My favorite are from Costco)
Cherry Tomatoes
Edamame
Mango
Hummus
Those are few of the things that I have added to my kitchen.

I also highly suggest that you start adding vitamins in your diet. I take fish oil, Vitamin E, and Evening Primrose Oil.

If there are any questions you have about the Wheat Belly Diet or just about health, please feel free to ask. I just want to say I am not an expert but I am starting this new lifestyle and maybe some of you could join me.
Carpe Diem,
Sophie

I have tried many razors but the razor that I find is the best is the...

Book Review: Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs

Another book review!? Yes! Today I have another book review for you all and it is going to be a good one! So this novel was one of the galleys that my mom got for me at BEA. (Book Expo America) Just a warning is that this novel does not come out until September 23. But you can always pre-order it if you are interested. The novel is called  Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs .  Now I will give you a little background about why I read this book. When I was in 6th grade, my Biology teacher put on the show Bones for us to watch. And from that day to 10th grade, I wanted to be a forensic anthropologist. Now to this day I love forensics, I think it is super fascinating but I am just not good at biology. Anyways, the show Bones was based off of Kathy Reichs and her life as a forensic anthropologist. Now a forensic anthropologist is someone who studies human bones and  figures out what happened to that person. How they died, if they were murdered, did they have any health p...

Battle of the BB Creams!

Hello everyone! Now as you all can tell, I love the Battle of the series. The reason why is because I can review a bunch of products for you all in one blog post. Since it is summer and not many of you want to wear a ton of make up, I thought I would tell you my favorite BB creams. I also want to let you know that there might not be many blog posts in the month of July. The reason is because I am in college at the moment and I am super busy. I will try to put up as many as I can but I just want to let you all know! :) I hoped you all had a wonderful June! What is a BB cream?    Now BB stands for blemish balm. A BB cream is supposed to have a moisturizer, primer, concealer, skin treatment and foundation all in one. BB creams have been all the rage for a while now but not many people talk about them anymore.   NOW LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE! Round 1: This is the  L'oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream . This BB cream was one of the first BB creams that ...
