Brand Focus: It's a 10!

Hey everyone!

I am super excited to be doing another brand focus for you all today! This one is going to be about the brand It's a 10! Now It's a 10 has been really popular on YouTube for quite a while now. I have tried a couple of their products and I want to tell you my thoughts and opinions on them.

About the company:

The creators of It's a 10 were Carolyn Plummer and Scott Scharg. It's a 10 has been a hair care company for about 20 years and it has become popular in salons and around the world. So how Carolyn Plummer and Scott Scharg created some of their products was they had to choose a whole bunch of products to just be in one product. So clients and customers would not have to buy a whole set of hair products, they only had to buy one product.  It's a 10 was created to bring convenience to their customers.

What does the It's a 10 stand for?

Well each product claims 10 things that it can do for your hair. For example with the Silk Express Miracle Silk Shampoo, one of the 10 things it claims is that when you use this shampoo, it will enhance silkiness. So depending on the product, it will say 10 things on the back that it claims will happen to your hair. When I first heard of it, I thought it was really smart. Most hair care company's just say a little blurb but it barely describes what the product will do to your hair. It is a good way to sell these products in my opinion.

Now on to the products!

The first product that I ever got from this line was the It's a 10 Miracle Leave- In Plus Keratin

This is my holy grail hair product. My hair does not feel the same if I do not use it. This just puts so much hydration and moisture back into my hair. Since I have super curly hair, my hair is always dry and frizzy. Whenever I wash my hair and use this, my hair is not as frizzy and my hair is super moisturized. Also I love that this leave in conditioner is in a spray bottle because it spritzes enough product after 5 to 10 spritzes for your ends. I put a little extra of this product because my hair is so frizzy and dry but depending on your hair type and how long your hair is, your spritzes vary. If there is one product that you should get from this line, get this product. It will change your hair for the better.

My first thought when I got this product is why are the conditioners always smaller than the shampoos? I really do not understand. I think conditioner is more important than shampoo and so they should make conditioner in bigger containers. Now onto the product. I thought this product was okay. It did not wow me. I feel like this product, you can find something similar in the drugstore. I liked the texture of the conditioner. I thought it did give my hair moisture and hydrated my hair but it was not enough. Also, I ran out of this product so quickly. Now I took about 3 squeezes of conditioner per wash and in less than a month I was out of it. Now I do 3 squeezes/pumps with all my conditioners. Since this did not meet up to the 3 squeezes, I knew that I would never repurchase this product. If you do not use a lot of conditioner but sometimes you want to add some extra moisture, this product is for you. But if you have thick, long hair, do not waste your money. You can get better conditioners at the drugstore.

The next product was the It's a 10 Silk Express Miracle Silk Shampoo
I unfortunately was not impressed with this product. I honestly thought it was okay. I tried it with the It's a 10 conditioner and a regular conditioner and both times I used it, my hair felt the same. It was not like this is a bad shampoo and it did not clean my hair but it was not a shampoo that I am willing to pay 16 bucks for. Also, I was disappointed that this did not add a lot of silkiness to my hair. It made my hair a little soft but not as silky as this product claimed. So I definitely do not recommend this product. You defiantly can get something similar to this shampoo at the drugstore.

The last and final product is the It's a 10 Miracle Shampoo Plus Keratin

This was the first shampoo that I tried from It's a 10. Honestly, it was okay. It really did not wow me like I thought it would. I absolutely love any product with keratin and I thought this would make a difference in my hair but it honestly didn't. I think this is not worth the price. I think that you can find better shampoos at the drugstore. Unfortunately, I had high hopes for this product. I thought it would help my hair with it's frizziness but it just kept my hair the same.

So that was my brand focus on It's a 10. Unfortunately, it was pretty negative. Now the only reason I wanted to do this brand focus was to tell you all that you do not need expensive products for your hair. Drugstore products can be just as good. But honestly, if you want to get anything from the line. Get the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. I am sorry it was a little negative but hey, these are my personal opinions and I wanted to share them with you. I hope you all have a wonderful day/night!

Carpe Diem,
Sophia

Beauty and Random Favorites for 2014!

Happy 2015 Everyone! I hope that the start of 2015 is going well for you all. I am super excited to be sharing my top 2014 products with you. At the end of the blog post, I will be sharing some random favorites as well. I hope you all enjoy! Face: I have two favorite foundations for 2014. The first one is a high end foundation and it is the  Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Full Coverage Foundation . I have the shade Medium-Tan Honey. This is my special occasion foundation. Since it is pretty expensive ( $38) I do not want to use it every day. My favorite part of this foundation is how much it looks like skin on your face but it looks like a more flawless version of my skin. But I personally do not like the cake face look and I like the more natural look and this foundation gives it to me. The second foundation is from the drugstore and it is the  Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Make up . I am in the shade W3. I heard about this foundation all over YouTube but ...

Summer Foundation Routine 2015

Hi Everyone! I have been wanting to do this blog post for a couple of months now but I really wanted to test out the product and make sure that I really stand by my opinions. Everyone in the beauty community has been talking about the  L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation . I have been using my ride or die foundation, the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for years. So I was a little hesitant to try out a new foundation. Once I have found something I love, I don't like to stray away from it. I went to a couple of different places to figure out the best price for the foundation. This foundation can vary from $11 to $13, depending on where you go. I got mine at CVS because I had a coupon. I got my color in 107 Fresh Biege. I want to tell you two very important things about my skin. I have a yellow undertone to my skin and I have dry skin. Especially in my T zone area. So if you have a pink undertone, I do not recommend this foundation. Most of the ...

Must Have Nail Polish for Spring!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Now that I have started talking about spring, I am so ready for it!  My last post  was about my favorite spring trends for 2014 and today I want to talk about nail polish! I love nail polish. It makes me so happy when I am writing notes and all of a sudden I look down and see my nails painted in a pretty color. It brightens my day! It's all about the small things in life. Essie's Play Date This color just screams spring to me. This is one of my all time favorite nail polishes and every time spring and summer comes around, this is the first nail polish I put on.  You're Such a Budapest This color is gorgeous. I do not personally own this color....yet! I will be getting it this spring because this is like a lavender/periwinkle purple. This color is a perfect color to transition color from winter to spring. Essie's Sand Tropez  This is another color that I don't own.....but I will. I honestly think ...
