Brand Focus: Urban Decay

Hi Everyone!
I have been loving watching videos on Youtube about a different brands. My favorite Youtuber who does brand focus's is Essiebutton. Her first brand focus on Bourjois and I fell in love with the idea. So thank you Estee! SO my first brand focus is on Urban Decay !

Urban Decay is one of my all time favorite brands. Urban Decay is an American company that was founded in 1996 by Sandy Lerner, who is also the co founder of Cisco Systems.

Urban Decay became popular in 17 years ago when red and pink became popular in the beauty industry. They also added in nail polish and then in January of 1999, they launched Urban Decay.

When they first launched the company, they had only 10 lipsticks and 12 nail polishes. When they first came out with their first palette, they based it off of the urban landscape of California.

Urban Decay does not test on animals and also all of their products are vegan.

That's the gist on how Urban Decay started. Now I will tell you about the products I have:
I have three of the Naked palettes. Naked, Naked 2, and Naked Basics. The Naked Collection is one of the most popular collections that Urban Decay has. I use all of my Naked palettes all the time. You can make any make up look you want.
This is the Naked Basics and there are five matte shades and one satin shade. I use this palette a lot when I have to go to work.

This is the first Naked palette and I love this palette. These eye shadows have warm tone eye shadows. Honestly these eye shadows can work with anyone with any skin tones and any eye color.

This is the Naked 2 palette. This has more cool tone eye shadows in it. I use this palette more when I am going out or when I need a more dramatic look. I used this palette on New Years Eve on my cousin, Crystal, and I.
Crystal had more of a smokey I than I did, but both make up looks looked amazing.

Now these two palettes are amazing because they have extremely fun colors.

The first palette I ever got from Urban Decay was the limited edition palette that was designed by Kime Buzzelli. He did the amazing artwork.

I used to love wearing the purple (Flash) and the turquoise color (Painkiller) because I was really into bright colors. Now, not so much. But I like using the bright colors as eye liners.

The next palette I got was the Deluxe Shadow Box

I love how this palette is more versatile because it has both colorful eye shadows as well as bronze shadows.

Now these three items are not essentials in my opinion. But I really wanted to try the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. The thing is, this product really does work. But I think I might be allergic to it. The reason why is because every time I wear it, I get hives all over my face. So look at the ingredients just in case.

The next product is Marshmallow Body Powder. Now this smells and tastes like marshmellows. Now I did say taste. This has a very nice shimmer to it and I think this is great for anyone who has prom or junior prom or weddings because it let's your skin has some shimmer. I like that you don't look like a disco ball.

The last two items I have are brushes. These came with both Naked palettes. To be honest, I don't really like these brushes. One of the brushes is a flat ended brush. The double ended brush has a flat ended brush and then a fluffy brush. I love the fluffy brush. It is so easy to clean and blends nicely. The flat ended brush, I don't like so much. The reason why is because they are hard to clean and they do not pack on eye shadow so well.  Out of all the items I have, I do not recommend these eye shadow brushes unless they came with your Naked palettes.

Those are all the products I have! I absolutely love Urban Decay! I hope you liked this brand focus. Please let me know any other brands you would like me to review. I really hope you have a great day/night!

Carpe Diem,
Sophia

Beauty and Random Favorites for 2014!

Happy 2015 Everyone! I hope that the start of 2015 is going well for you all. I am super excited to be sharing my top 2014 products with you. At the end of the blog post, I will be sharing some random favorites as well. I hope you all enjoy! Face: I have two favorite foundations for 2014. The first one is a high end foundation and it is the  Tarte Amazonian Clay 12- Hour Full Coverage Foundation . I have the shade Medium-Tan Honey. This is my special occasion foundation. Since it is pretty expensive ( $38) I do not want to use it every day. My favorite part of this foundation is how much it looks like skin on your face but it looks like a more flawless version of my skin. But I personally do not like the cake face look and I like the more natural look and this foundation gives it to me. The second foundation is from the drugstore and it is the  Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Make up . I am in the shade W3. I heard about this foundation all over YouTube but ...

Summer Foundation Routine 2015

Hi Everyone! I have been wanting to do this blog post for a couple of months now but I really wanted to test out the product and make sure that I really stand by my opinions. Everyone in the beauty community has been talking about the  L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation . I have been using my ride or die foundation, the L'Oreal True Match Foundation for years. So I was a little hesitant to try out a new foundation. Once I have found something I love, I don't like to stray away from it. I went to a couple of different places to figure out the best price for the foundation. This foundation can vary from $11 to $13, depending on where you go. I got mine at CVS because I had a coupon. I got my color in 107 Fresh Biege. I want to tell you two very important things about my skin. I have a yellow undertone to my skin and I have dry skin. Especially in my T zone area. So if you have a pink undertone, I do not recommend this foundation. Most of the ...

Must Have Nail Polish for Spring!

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Now that I have started talking about spring, I am so ready for it!  My last post  was about my favorite spring trends for 2014 and today I want to talk about nail polish! I love nail polish. It makes me so happy when I am writing notes and all of a sudden I look down and see my nails painted in a pretty color. It brightens my day! It's all about the small things in life. Essie's Play Date This color just screams spring to me. This is one of my all time favorite nail polishes and every time spring and summer comes around, this is the first nail polish I put on.  You're Such a Budapest This color is gorgeous. I do not personally own this color....yet! I will be getting it this spring because this is like a lavender/periwinkle purple. This color is a perfect color to transition color from winter to spring. Essie's Sand Tropez  This is another color that I don't own.....but I will. I honestly think ...
